Thanks to ceramic balls, these bearings are both lighter and sturdier, enhancing their longevity. These ceramic balls are resistant to rust and capable of crushing any sand that may come into contact with them.
It is still advisable to avoid exposing them to sand and water as this will drastically decrease the bearings' lifespan, particularly if you neglect to clean the bed afterwards. Furthermore, be mindful that the metal ring surrounding the bearing is still susceptible to rust.

If you ride with ball bearings when it is wet or dirty, it gets into the ball bearings and impairs the roll.
