Fingerboards are small-scale skateboards crafted from wood or plastic, with wooden fingerboards being the preferred choice. Similar to regular skateboards, fingerboards include a complete set of components: grip tape, hardware, two trucks, and four wheels. Typically, finger skateboards measure around 100 mm in length and approximately 30 mm in width, making them conveniently portable in your pocket.
Some fingerboards are pre-assembled and ready for tricks right out of the box. However, if you enjoy getting technical and assembling parts, you can also find complete sets that require assembly.
Fingerboard Ramps and Rails For a Miniature Skatepark
With fingerboard rails and ramps, creating a skatepark at home has never been simpler. These mini ramps and rails perfectly complement your miniature skateboards. They are designed to replicate the shapes and features of full-sized skatepark obstacles.
You can find everything from stair sets and iron rails to quarter pipes in a pocket-size, allowing you to carry them in your backpack. Acquiring a variety of ramps and rails not only adds enjoyment to fingerboarding but also enhances your skills.
The Story Behind Finger Skateboards
Fingerboards were initially produced in the 1970s, primarily serving as keychains for professional skaters. They began to gain visibility in the skateboarding scene after a homemade fingerboard appeared in the skateboarding video “Future Primitive” in 1985. By the late 1990s, finger skateboards had started to achieve broader popularity and recognition beyond the skateboarding community.
Over time, the quality of fingerboard decks and other components has improved. People have come to realize that fingerboards are not just decorative items but also offer a lot of fun and are excellent for simulating real skateboard tricks.
