Although EVOC was founded in 2008, its story began in 1999 when freerider and product designer Holger Feist suffered a back injury in an avalanche incident in Austria. It was on that day that the concept for a backpack featuring a back protector was born. After years traversing the globe by bike and ski, Holger realised there was significant potential to enhance the ergonomics of backpacks and bike packs.
