Onyx Core 5mm Frontzip 2018 Wetsuit

The Ion Onyx Core Semidry wetsuit with a chest zip in a 5/4mm thickness is an excellent all-around choice for watersports like kitesurfing, surfing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, and SUP (Stand Up Paddling), offering superb manoeuvrability, particularly in the arms and legs where it is most essential. In addition to maintaining warmth in cold waters, it also offers protection against the windchill factor.

The wetsuit incorporates Ion’s Hot Stuff lining on the interior of the wetsuit at the chest area to ensure comfort.

The knee section is fortified with Supra Tex nylon, a fabric with a high level of resistance to abrasion, enhancing durability and optimising the suit's wear protection. Comfort and flexibility are further improved by the contour cut at the collar, wrists, knees, and elbows, which aligns with the body's natural shapes. Additionally, the wetsuit includes an internal key pocket situated in the chest area.

According to Ion’s general guide (individual preferences may differ), this wetsuit is suitable for temperatures ranging from 32° Fahrenheit to 48° Fahrenheit.

Features:

• Aqua-A

Aqua-A is a solvent-free, water-based adhesive utilised in all Ion wetsuits.

• Seam reinforcements

To reinforce stress points inside the wetsuit, Ion has incorporated Melco tape to enhance durability. Ion advises: “If you inadvertently left the suit in the boot of your car on a hot day, they may begin to peel off. Do not worry! Gently use an iron on the affected area, as the adhesive is activated by heat.”

• Contour Cut

Wetsuits are designed to follow body contours, improving flexibility and comfort. All Ion wetsuits are equipped with a contour cut.

• Drain Holes

To prevent water accumulation at fabric overlap points, drain holes are implemented. The drain holes are designed not to widen.

• Internal Key Pocket

An internal pocket within the wetsuit accommodates keys and is water-resistant.

• GBS - Glued Blind Stitched

The process of glueing neoprene panels, in conjunction with blind stitch sewing, effectively bonds the panels to achieve excellent water resistance.

• Supra Tex

Used for areas of the wetsuit exposed to more wear, such as the knee sections. Supra Tex fabric offers superior resistance to abrasion.
